first_imgNo. 8 West Florida Falls to No. 7 Nova Argonauts head to San Antonio for Spring Break Share March 6, 2019 PENSACOLA, Fla.-  The No. 8 UWF Women’s Tennis team falls to No. 7 Nova Southeastern 5-2 at the Argo’s final home match before spring break.The Argos started off the match winning doubles with doubles team Karolina Silwanowicz and Gabriela Araujo defeated Espinal and Wardenburg 6-4. Their match was followed by another Argo win by team Valeria Mantilla and Heather Mixon winning against Nosievici and Lowrey 6-4. These two wins clinched doubles, but left Berta Bonardi and Diana Vlad’s match unfinished and when tied at 4-4.Singles is where the Argos took the hit. The Sharks won 5 singles matches in a row and with the only UWF win was No.1 Berta Bonardi defeating No. 9 Ana Navas 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 in a competitive match. The No. 7 Nova Sharks (9-0, 3-0) are still left undefeated this season as No. 8 West Florida falls to 4-3 overall and stays 4-1 in the GSC.Up next for the women is a spring break trip to San Antonio, Texas where the ladies will face No. 18 Southwest Baptist on March 13, No. 4 Hawaii Pacific on March 14, Cameron on March 15, and will wrap it up with No. 16 Midwestern State on March 16. All of the matches each day are scheduled to start at 9:30 am CT but are subject to change.
