Wright-Phillips: Redknapp swore at me during row

first_imgShaun Wright-Phillips has told The Sun he was sworn at during a row with QPR manager Harry Redknapp. Redknapp recently reiterated that he wants Wright-Phillips, 33, to leave Loftus Road, where the former England winger has been out of favour for the best part of three years.“I went to see Harry but it didn’t go as I was hoping,” he said.AdChoices广告“I don’t know if he thought I was going in for an argument but it certainly wasn’t that and it got a bit heated.“I just wanted to know what I could do better, how I could improve – just advice really. I didn’t expect to be sworn at.“I didn’t go in to argue but it turned into a bit of a row. I didn’t want that.”Redknapp is keen for Wright-Phillips to leaveWright-Phillips, whose contract expires this summer, has been a major flop since a big-money move from Manchester City in 2011 but insisted he has no idea why he has been overlooked.“It’s burning me up because I honestly don’t know why,” he said.“I wish I did because then maybe I could correct something and make it better for all of us. I’ve not had any explanation, nothing to tell me I need to work on this or that.“It is so frustrating because if I don’t know what I have to do, how can I put it right? If they don’t want me then just say, but no one’s said they don’t want me at the club.“Just come out and say what it is I need to do. I will listen, I will take it as a man and I will work on it.“All I want is to know if I have done something wrong, if there is something I need to be doing that I’m not. All I’m asking for is some direction — everyone needs that at some time in their job.“I just want to play football. I don’t want any QPR fans to feel I am short-changing them. Even if I only had five minutes out there, they’d be five minutes of everything I have.“I have had a couple of nibbles from clubs but QPR are in a dogfight and I want to help. If they don’t want me, then fair enough, but I’d love nothing better than to be helping QPR fight to stay up.“I’m not a quitter but don’t know what I have done wrong — and, of course, why no one will tell me.” See also:QPR boss dismisses Lennon speculationRedknapp: Wright-Phillips should leave QPR Follow West London Sport on TwitterFind us on Facebooklast_img
