Upd. at 16:20 Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Brazilian international midfielder Roberto Firmnino from Hoffenheim. The player will seal the move and complete a medical after he returns from the Copa America in Chile with his national side. 24/06/2015 Sport EN CEST The Premier League side have not revealed the length or details of the contract, but reports in England have suggested that Liverpool will pay Hoffenheim 41 million euros. Firmino, 23, has played for Hoffenheim for the last five seasons, scoring 47 goals in his 151 appearances. He had previously played for Brazilian side Figueirense. Despite his age, he has been a key player in the Bundesliga side’s system, to the point that even FC Barcelona had checked on his evolution. His progression has seen him win his place in the Brazil side and he has started games at this summer’s Copa America. Against Venezuela he scored one of the goals in a 2-1 win, which helped Brazil top their group. After a disappointing season, only finishing sixth, Liverpool have already strengthened with the signings of James Milner, Danny Ings and Joe Gomez. Firmino, therefore, becomes Brendan Rodger’s fourth signing of an active summer.
